The Bigger Picture

When among all the rights you do, a tiny bad thing done by you doesn't matters. But it does, not to you of course, for you think it's only fair that you attempt a tiny bad thing in your otherwise pious atempts but it's wrong and unfair to the one unfortunate person that is losing something. It's unjust to them. And it break them inside that you'd do the right with everyone, but wrong with them.

The thing about us is that we categorize. We favor. And we do it without taking in account the consequences. Without going in details, favoring the big picture. But that very picture is incomplete without the details. Stare a little longer and you'll see the missing patterns, the place where you missed it. The wonderful picture suddenly looks very very ugly. And that detail that you missed is often the reason some people break down deep inside. You become the reason, because you don't value. You value yourself. We can stop entertaining people for a material thing but we think a thousand times before we acknowledge a person over material thing.

We need to look at the bigger picture, not just a sweeping glance, but really look at it, taking in details before you act or add.

We need to look at the bigger picture. Ahead and under the surface.

  2. Mhmmmm. We live in a day and age where no one WANTS to think about what they're doing. We act as if everything we do has no weight and refuse to look at the consequences, and that's why the world's as messed up as it is right now.

Because a numbing yourself to the consequences kills your sense of guilt.

  4. We do need to look at the bigger picture more but we mustn't neglect the tiny details that help make it. Which is I guess what you're saying as well. We look at the bigger picture to see the small details that made it. Or didn't make it, as the case may be.

  6. Whenever we talk of the "big picture", it almost always implies ignoring the smaller details. And yes, preferential treatment is a very potent way to cause pain and encourage dispute. We know that from the history of human civilization.

What a brilliant and refreshing thought. It kinda makes me envision a time of true equality, but humans are nursing that dream since the time of ancient Greece. :P

  9. In another context, trying to get every tiny piece to fit is really OCD. Like you think your whole day is ruined because one sock doesn't fit or you think you would belong better in a zoo because you messed up one conversation at a family-event...which doesn't have the effect I intended.Still...tiny things do matter when it comes to people but not when it comes to self obsession.
    There.You have a new post!:)

  11. There is a narcissist hidden inside everyone of us. For human nature, it is the most obvious thing to value own self and always prioritize.
A profound gaze is necessary for that bigger picture which surely ends in good results.
    Nicely written.
